Citroën is on a roll, ever since it created a separate premium lineup under the DS moniker back in 2009. The automaker is now creating a dedicated styling department for the DS range with the aim of differentiating its products from the more mundane C-range models.

"To support the move upmarket and international expansion of Citroën, particularly in China, it is important to make a clearer distinction in styling between the C range and the DS line, each in their respective fields," explained Frédéric Banzet, design director of the Citroën brand.

The automaker said that the “DS Line” styling department will be headed by Thierry Metroz, while Alexandre Malval will be in charge of the C-range design division.
