Universal Studios recently opened a Transformers ride at its amusement parks in California and Singapore. The ride is said to be "engaging" and "amazing". It puts 12 riders in a car that speeds through a 3D battle between Autobots and Decepticons who are destroying Chicago while they toy with the fate of humans.

We haven't had the chance to experience the ride firsthand, but the reviews seem to give it high ratings for their 3D experience that could almost quality as augmented reality. The basis specs include two levels, five minutes long, 14 movie screens - which are about 60-feet high and curved, and are so huge that one reviewer said he couldn't see the edges, images at four times HD resolution, a 5,000-watt 14-channel sound system, and props including drops of mist, steam, and attendants in military camo that bark orders at riders.

It's been compared against some of the best rides in the world, including Disneyland's Pirates of the Caribbean.
