Nissan has announced that Japanese customers will start receiving the home power backups in July, and now, it's your car that will charge your home up for you. The EV's battery will supply 6kWh of juice to your home, and that will keep it powered for up to two days.
It will feature an advanced charge which will be able to charge the Leaf up to 80% capacity in four hours, compared to the usual eight that is required to get to that level. It will be sold through Nissan dealers and run up 480,000 yen ($6,000) or less if there's government subsidies.
