Mercedes-Benz UK have come up with an idea to catch a golf ball instead of trying to beat it for its latest promotional campaign. They used the SLS AMG roadster with ex F1 racing driver David Coulthard has the pilot and pro golfer Jake Shepherd to deliver the ball.
Coulthard had to chase down the golf ball struck at 178mph or 286km/h, but after a couple of practice runs, he managed to catch Shepherd's ball on their second proper attempt.
The car caught the ball 275 meters away from the tee, and it's a new Guinness World Record for "farthest golf shot caught in a moving car". Hit the jump to watch all videos:
