The UK is going to get lucky again. In July, BMW will launch its 2013 model year 3 Series Saloon and 5-Series and 6-Series ranges. The changes will include an introduction of new models and engines.
Starting with the 2013 3-Series saloon, BMW will launch the new ActiveHybrid 3. The high-powered hybrid will be available in SE, Modern, Luxury and M Sport trims.
The ActiveHybrid 3 features a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six petrol engine that works in tandem with a 40kw (54hp) electric motor for a combined output of 335hp (340PS) and 450Nm of torque. It can reach 62mph from zero in 5.3 seconds, and return a combined fuel economy of 47.9mpg UK with CO2 emissions of 139g/km.
Next up is the 320i xDrive, the M Sport trim packages for all sedans and the 330d.
As for the 5-Series range, the 2013 model year sees the presentation of a new base 520d Gran Turismo powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel with 181hp (184PS) and 53.3mpg on the combined cycle.
All other versions of the 5-Series Gran Turismo range gain Auto Start-Stop and ECO PRO which brings down their BIK rating by up to 5 per cent, while the 530d, 535d and 550i all get a power boost.
BMW has also upgraded the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 on all 6-Series models. The new 650i engine produces 443hp (449PS) and 479 lb-ft (650Nm), with a gain of 41hp (42PS) and 37 lb-ft (50Nm) compared to the previous models.
