The current, third generation RAV4 is due for a replacement. It's already got seven years on it already. Rumor has it that we could be seeing a new RAV4 making its debut as early as this fall, before it hits showrooms at the end of the year or early 2013.

A set of renderings sourced from Italian magazine Quattroroute attempt to give us an idea of what the next RAV4 SUV, which will likely be marketed as a 2013 model in the States, will look like.

As for its engine, it's another mystery altogether. Would Toyota continue to offer a choice of four cylinder diesel and petrol engines or will they include hybrid in it? Hit the gallery below for the video:
