Adhering to safety regulations, Perodua announced that all its cars will come with dual airbags and seat belt pretensioners from July 2012 onwards. The safety measures will be included even in the Viva, which is Malaysia's cheapest new car. There will be no price increase with these features.

The UN ECE R94 new safety regulations in regards to frontal collision pushed the company to implement this. And its a good thing, though R94 isn't just about airbags and seat belt pretensioners. Nonetheless, this is good news all over.
